I am terrible with remembering birthdays. I have them on the calendar, but I forget to look at it. I have nieces and nephews who should be getting a card from me every year but…it usually doesn’t happen. They ARE special, remembered, and loved – they deserve to at least get a card. I’ve felt bad about it, but also asked myself “is this just who I am?”. But today’s devotional verses remind me that sending them a card isn’t just about them – it is also about living up to the kind of person I want to be.
