Guest Devotional: Feelings

We all have feelings, comfortable ones and uncomfortable ones. And your feelings are VALID. You are allowed to feel your feelings and process what is behind the feeling.

But friend. Don’t stay there too long.

Meditate means to think on in silence, to muse, to imagine…

When we choose to meditate on our feelings, we often fall into the trap of staying in the hard places. It’s difficult to get out of that cycle. But possible.

Instead, choose to meditate on God’s words. There is light and life in his words. God wants to speak love, peace, joy, and faith into your heart. But his voice is soft. We have to make space for him if we want to hear him.

When your mind starts to wander back to your worries, your fears, your frustrations, NOTICE IT. Then repeat after me:

“They attacked me at a moment when I was in distress, but the Lord supported me. He led me to a place of safety; he rescued me because he delights in me.”
Psalms 18:18?-?19 (NLT)

“God has united you with Christ Jesus. For our benefit God made him to be wisdom itself. Christ made us right with God; he made us pure and holy, and he freed us from sin.”
1 Corinthians 1:30 (NLT)

“Yet I am confident I will see the Lord’s goodness while I am here in the land of the living. Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord.”
Psalms 27:13?-?14 (NLT)
